The second branch at Zurich Airport was opened in 1980 and is located in a highly frequented location in a hall with a history. Open daily from early morning until late in the evening, the bakery offers a last chance to eat before passengers embark on their journey. While the sales processes at all eleven Steiner Flughafeck locations are standardized, there is still room to find a unique retail concept at each location that fits the locale. No two stores are the same, yet they are recognizable as a brand. Pfeffermint started the project with an assortment analysis and was able to generate space for seating and a place to linger briefly by refining the product offering. The given low ceiling height and peculiar floor plan - with a floor spike running far into the store - required an independent design solution. Fresh floor and ceiling colors brighten the entire space considerably, allowing it to successfully assert itself visually within the storefront. A ribbon of color in contemporary blue-green runs through all the areas and skilfully visually links the bench seating with the product displays on the sideboard and the central bread shelf. The use of light ash wood and dark lava stone complements the mix of materials to create a lively and cozy bistro atmosphere. The lovely styling adds the finishing touches to the interior and makes the craftsmanship palpable.
